Former President Donald Trump issued a dire warning ahead of a potential indictment by the Justice Department following last month’s FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate.
In an interview with conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump said that an indictment of him would bring “problems … the likes of which perhaps we’ve never seen” in the country, adding that Americans “would not stand” for him being prosecuted by Democratic President Joe Biden’s administration.
Trump also said that an indictment by the Biden DOJ would not stop him from running for president again in 2024, Politico reported, which was a tacit admission that he plans to do so.
“If a thing like that happened, I would have no prohibition against running,” Trump said. “I think if it happened, I think you’d have problems in this country the likes of which perhaps we’ve never seen before. I don’t think the people of the United States would stand for it.”
